      How to turn on InSpace notifications in the Firefox browser

      To fully optimize your InSpace experience, enabling in-browser notifications is advised.

      Busy education professionals are multitasking across tabs and in hybrid work settings. Enabling notifications helps you stay updated on real-time changes, messages, or alerts in your InSpace sessions. This guide will walk you through the process of enabling these notifications in Firefox.

      What is Web Push?

      Web Push is an optional feature that allows websites to send you messages even when the site is not loaded. A website with granted permissions can send you push messages. You will only receive messages from sites that you have granted permission.

      How to Enable Notifications for InSpace

      Follow these instructions to give permission for InSpace:

      1. Open InSpace in Firefox.
      2. Click the padlock icon in the address bar.
      3. Click the arrow in the Site Information drop-down panel.
      4. Click 'More information' in the next panel to bring up the 'Page Info' window.
      5. Click the 'Permissions' tab.
      6. Under 'Send Notifications', choose a notification option: 'Always Ask', 'Allow', or 'Block'. If your choices are grayed out, deselect the 'Use Default' checkbox.

      Alternatively, you can also:

      1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click 'Firefox' and select 'Preferences'.
      2. Click 'Privacy & Security' from the left pane.
      3. Scroll to the 'Permissions' section.
      4. Click the 'Settings...' button to the right of 'Notifications'.
      5. Select 'Allow' or 'Block' from the 'Status' drop-down for the InSpace website.
      6. Click the 'Save Changes' button.

      How to Revoke Permissions for a Specific Site

      If you no longer wish to receive notifications from a specific site:

      1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click 'Firefox' and select 'Preferences'.
      2. Click 'Privacy & Security' from the left pane.
      3. Scroll to the 'Permissions' section.
      4. Click the 'Settings...' button next to 'Notifications'.
      5. Select the website.
      6. Click the 'Remove Website' button.

      How to Stop Firefox from Asking to Allow Notifications

      If you want Firefox to automatically deny permission requests without asking, follow these steps:

      1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click 'Firefox' and select 'Preferences'.
      2. Click 'Privacy & Security' from the left pane.
      3. Scroll to the 'Permissions' section.
      4. Click the 'Settings...' button to the right of 'Notifications'.
      5. Select the 'Block new requests asking to allow notifications' checkbox.
      6. Click the 'Save Changes' button.

      Customizing your notification preferences allows you to remain connected and responsive on InSpace without interrupting your workflow.
