How to turn on InSpace notifications in the Chrome browser

To fully utilize the interactive and responsive features of InSpace, it's recommended to enable in-browser notifications.

Busy education professionals are multitasking across tabs and in hybrid work settings. Enabling notifications helps you stay updated on real-time changes, messages, or alerts in your InSpace sessions. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to enable these notifications in Google Chrome.

Changing Default Notification Settings

  1. Open Google Chrome on your computer.
  2. At the top right, click More (three vertical dots icon) and then navigate to Settings.
  3. In the Settings menu, click on 'Privacy and Security'. Next, click on 'Site Settings' and then 'Notifications'.
  4. Here, you'll be able to select your default notification setting. This will determine how Chrome handles notification requests by default.

Allowing InSpace Notifications

To ensure that you receive all InSpace notifications, you'll need to allow InSpace specifically:

  1. In the 'Notifications' settings, next to "Allowed to send notifications", click 'Add'.
  2. Enter https://app.inspace.chat.
  3. Click 'Add'.

Upon completing these steps, InSpace will be able to send you notifications.

Enabling Quieter Notification Prompts

If you want to reduce interruptions but still wish to be aware of notifications, you can enable quieter messaging:

  1. In the 'Notifications' settings, select 'Use quieter messaging'.

This will stop pop-up prompts from interrupting your browsing. Instead, a bell icon will appear next to the website's address. You can click the bell icon to review and manage your notifications.

Note: Remember, you will not receive notifications if you are browsing privately or in incognito mode.

Customizing your notification preferences allows you to remain connected and responsive on InSpace without interrupting your workflow.
