How to go to an event in the InSpace Experience Hub and Auditorium

Welcome to the InSpace Experience Hub and Auditorium! This guide will walk you through the process of joining and engaging in events held on InSpace. Follow these steps to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience.

Step 1: Accessing the InSpace Link

  • Start by clicking on the provided InSpace link to join the event.
  • On the join screen, set up your audio and video settings and run the systems test to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Enter your name and pronouns as prompted.

Step 2: Reception Area

  • Upon joining the space, you will be directed to the reception area.
  • In the reception area, you will find a message from the hosts. Be sure to read this message as it may contain important instructions.
  • Additionally, you will see several cards representing different rooms you can join. You can use the arrows above the cards to navigate to rooms on the second screen.

Step 3: Auditorium

  • Some hubs may feature an auditorium, which serves as a larger gathering place for presentations, lectures, or keynote addresses.
  • If you are attending an event in the auditorium, you will be placed in the audience.
  • Your microphone and camera will be automatically turned off in the auditorium, but you can still participate through the chat feature.

Step 4: Participating in the Auditorium

  • The presenters on stage control the flow of the event.
  • To ask a question, use the questioner feature. This will allow you to turn on your camera and microphone to ask questions live.
  • If you need to move to a different space, click on the home icon to open the sidebar. Select a new room, and you will be moved accordingly.

Step 5: Inside a Room

  • When you enter a room, you can actively engage in the session.
  • Your session host will provide specific instructions on how to participate effectively.
  • Here are some basic functionalities you can utilize:
    • Mute and unmute your microphone as needed.
    • Turn on your camera when required.
    • Raise your hand to signal that you have a question or comment.
    • Utilize the chat feature to communicate with other participants.
    • Use your mouse or trackpad to zoom in and out on the screen.
    • Enable closed captioning for yourself by clicking the CC button on the top right.
    • If breakout rooms are activated by the host, you can click and drag your own circle to join a breakout room.
    • If proximity audio is activated, click and drag your circle to move closer to someone for a conversation.

Step 6: Navigating Between Rooms

  • Use the home icon to access the sidebar and navigate between different rooms as required.

Step 7: Exiting the Session

  • When you are finished with the session, click on the red door icon to exit.
